La Côte Patriarche, French for "The Founder's Slope," is a tribute to the pioneering spirit of Mike Sauer and the esteemed Master of Wine, David Lake. In 1986, they planted Washington's very first Syrah grapes at Red Willow Vineyard, setting the stage for a legacy of exceptional winemaking. Those original vines are the soul of our La Côte Patriarche, a wine that embodies the rich history and distinctive character of Red Willow. This influential site has shaped our wine and provided Syrah cuttings to vineyards across the state, spreading its legacy far and wide. Our own La Serenne is a proud recipient of these historic cuttings. Who knew a history lesson could be so delicious?

"Gorgeous, concentrated and sleek, this elegant wine is vivid in fruit flavors and has the lithe structure for further aging. White pepper, raspberries and blackberries are lifted by firm, polished tannins."
