2019 La Serenne

The 2019 is an absolutely classic La Serenne.  The black-purple color is striking from the moment it hits the glass, the aromas immediately follow.  Cracked espresso bean, crushed rock, shaved fennel, dark berries and black pepper fill the glass alongside bright violet and fresh herbs. The palate, while medium-bodied, is rich, vibrant and expressive, adding a lavish combination of crushed blackberries and blueberries to the luxurious mouthfeel.  The tannin is present but polished, with superb acidity propelling a prolonged, intense finish.  This flourishes with a short decant now and can be cellared 15-20 years.
