2019 La Côte Rousse
Syrah
Regular price $72.00La Côte Rousse, French for "The Red Slope" combines Syrah from the two founders of Red Mountain; Scott Williams of Kiona Vineyard and Jim Holmes of Ciel Du Cheval Vineyard. In the 1970s these two made a passionate (and many thought absurd) commitment to the untested and inhospitable sagebrush slopes of Red Mountain. Today Red Mountain is justifiably considered to be one of America's most respected appellations, producing long-lived Syrah brimming with fruit essence and richness.

The 2019 La Côte Rousse could be the most exotic and profoundly aromatic La Côte Rousse ever. A deep, dark purple core leads out to a magenta rim, with an intense and immensely complex bouquet. Fresh blueberry, blackberry and red raspberries, peach skin and lavender explode from the glass with graphite, cedar, jasmine tea and rose petal emerging with air. The palate brings vibrancy and richness, with cacao nibs, marionberry and orange zest adding layers to the full-bodied frame. The finish lingers around a mouthwatering mineral essence and is lengthy and elegant. Absolutely delightful, this is a stellar example of what makes WeatherEye so exciting.

The 2019 Syrah La Côte Rousse has a beautiful floral, exotic style as well as plenty of blue and black fruits, notes of lavender, peach blossom, and graphite, medium to full body, a round, layered texture, and outstanding length. It's another impeccable Syrah from this team.
