We love pushing our boundaries to see what possibilities are around the corner.  It’s the spirit of experimentation that drives us, the idea of what could be possible that ignites our passion.  We believe that breakthroughs to the greater character and increasing quality are always before us and challenging our own assumptions is how we’ll get there.

Our red wine cuvée, Possibility, is the result of just this sort of boundary-pushing.  We stood in the cellar when it came time to blend, looking over barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah whose overall quality was superb, working to mold them into the final versions of Père de Famille, Clos de Betz and our range of single-site Syrahs, blends which followed their old-world counterparts in varietal makeup.  We’d never considered blending Rhône and Bordeaux varieties together, but we said to ourselves, “there’s an opportunity for something special here,” and Possibility was born.

Now, Possibility is one of the most exciting cuvées that we blend each year, incorporating a wider range of barrel and varietal combinations than any of our other wines.  But the goal is simple: to make a wine that embodies Washington at its most delicious: vibrant fruit, mouthwatering freshness, beautiful texture, and savory complexity.

  • Tasting Notes

Like the rest of the wines from the 2016 vintage, Possibility is deeply colored, with a purple core leading out to a brilliant magenta rim. The color is indicative of the intensity of the aromatics: ripe and smoky black fruits, blueberries and cassis immediately appear, adding a sexy note of cedar incense alongside crushed herbs as it opens. The palate is deep, juicy and layered with a texture that combines the plushness of Syrah and the mouthwatering structure of Cabernet. The finish is pronounced and lengthy, gravitating towards a pleasingly savory mix of bright rosemary, fresh earth and baking spices. It may be futile to resist enjoying this lovely wine now…

"What was previously called Cuvée Frangin, the 2016 Possibility checks in as a blend of 40% each of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, with the balance Merlot and Cinsault. It's a ripe, upfront, juicy, delicious effort that has a classic inky purple Betz color, great notes of plums, blueberries, violets, and spice, medium to full-bodied richness, and a clean finish. It's incredibly high quality and a great introduction to the wines of this estate.." 91 Points- Jeb Dunnuck
