La Côte Rousse, French for “The Red Slope,” combines Syrah from the two founders of Red Mountain: Scott Williams of Kiona Vineyard and Jim Holmes of Ciel du Cheval Vineyard. In the 1970’s these two made a passionate commitment to the untested and inhospitable sagebrush slopes of Red Mountain. Today Red Mountain is justifiably considered to be one of America's most respected appellations, producing long-lived Syrah brimming with fruit essence and richness.

The two vintages included in this bundle represent 2 favorites and make it perfect for gift-giving. Help your favorite someone start their wine collection with these fantastic wines!

"The 2016 Syrah La Côte Rousse is built around clone 99, all from Red Mountain, that saw 45% whole clusters in the fermentation. This cuvee, which is also moving more and more toward Ciel du Cheval, is 88% from this terrific site. It’s another inky purple-colored red with a beautiful bouquet of black raspberries, toasted spice, dried herbs, and mineral aromas and flavors. This full-bodied, ripe, layered Syrah needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will keep for 15+ years." 95+ pts - Jeb Dunnuck

"2017 Syrah La Côte Rousse- Fabulous notes of bloody blueberries, lavender, dried herbs, and ground pepper as well as tons of minerality emerge from this full-bodied, concentrated, masculine Syrah.... savory, mineral, structured profile..." 95+ pts - Jeb Dunnuck
